What Does the Clarity CASE Framework Measure?

CASE is a research-based framework outlining the essential factors schools need in order to improve learning through the use of technology. The framework includes 4 domains - Classroom, Access, Skills and Environment. Each domain measures different areas as described in the diagram below.

How are Areas of Improvement Expressed?

Areas of maturity as well as areas that need improvement are identified through data analysis. These areas can be broken down by campus as seen in the image below. Recommendations on how to address these areas are provided for the development of the district action plan.

Videos About the CASE Framework

If you would like to find out more about the Clarity CASE Framework, take a look at the videos below.

  • The CASE Framework Explained
The CASE technology report is a summary of technology effectiveness. CASE stands for Classroom, Access, Skills, and Environment.
  • C is for Classroom
It's important to find what students are doing with technology and how often.
  • A is for Access
Access to modern hardware, software and a reliable network are essential for the effective use of technology in the classroom.
  • S is for Skills
Teacher and student technology skills determine how technology impacts learning.
  • E is for Environment
Multiple factors determine the success of technology solutions.

Clarity and The New Digital Learning Environment

Article 1: The New Digital Learning Environment, Statement of Principle:

"Digitization and miniaturization of information processing power are expanding exponentially and are changing the world, our lives, and our communities at an overwhelming speed. To beviable, schools must adapt to this new environment. We must embrace and seize technology’s potential to capture the hearts and minds of this, the first digital generation, so that the work designed for them is more engaging and respects their superior talents with digital devices and connections."

What Does the Dashboard Look Like?

Twenty-four hours after a district data is collected, the dashboard will be active. The dashboard includes an overall score as well as the current status in four domain areas.

The CASE framework summarizes information into an overall tech score. This score is calculated using advanced algorithms that have been developed by data scientists working with a team of educators, educational researchers, and school practitioners.

The overall tech score is an average of the 4 individual domains of the CASE Framwork. Scores are color coded to show levels of maturity:

What Do Reports Look Like?

Reports are available for 7 domains. Reports enable districts to compare student and teacher results side by side. Clarity reports are concise and easy to read.  An example of a Teacher Skills report is shown below.
